Hi, I'm Gaurab Chaudhary, a final year marketing student at Biratnagar International College. The Marketing Course has been one of the highlights of my studies at the University of Wolverhampton. What I love most is how it blends theory with practice, giving me the chance to apply what I learn to real marketing challenges. It’s not just about reading concepts but about building skills I can carry into my career, from personal branding to digital marketing.

Here are five things that I really like about my marketing course:

1. Industry Relevant Curriculum

The biggest strengths of the modules is how closely it aligns with the marketing industry. Rather than focusing only on textbook models, it explores the current challenges and trends businesses face today through practical case studies and real-world examples. The curriculum is regularly updated to reflect new tools, platforms, and consumer behaviors, which makes the learning experience dynamic and engaging. With marketing evolving so quickly, this emphasis on industry relevance reassures me that I am gaining knowledge I can apply immediately. It has helped me understand not just what strategies exist, but why they matter in today’s fast-moving business environment.

2. Hands-On Learning Experience

What I love most about the modules is the strong focus on learning by doing. From creating marketing content to developing digital campaign strategies, I have been pushed to apply concepts in practical scenarios rather than just memorizing them. For example, planning and presenting campaign ideas required me to think carefully about audience targeting, messaging, and expected outcomes, which made the theory feel far more concrete. Workshops often felt like collaborative creative sessions where ideas were tested, refined, and discussed, making the classroom environment.

3. Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and Social Media Marketing (SMM)

I have really enjoyed exploring the strategies the SEM and SMM. It provides clear picture of how business/organisations build their online visibility. It’s a hands on knowledge that goes beyond the theory. From the concepts of paid ads over both the search engine and social media to how they optimize their content with specific campaigns to optimize their reach and engagement.

4. Understanding the Importance of SEO and Keyword Research

One of the biggest highlights of the modules has been diving into SEO and keyword research. Before, I thought SEO was just about adding the right words to a website, but I’ve learned it’s much more strategic than that. Businesses use keyword research to figure out exactly what their audiences are searching for, which questions they want answered, and which problems they need solved. By tailoring content around those insights, companies don’t just show up in search results.

That’s where keyword planning becomes essential, and it’s clear to me now why every digital marketing professional needs this skill. It’s a balance of creativity and analysis knowing your audience deeply while also understanding how algorithms work.

5. Growing with Supportive Faculty

Finally, one of the most valuable aspects has been the guidance and encouragement from faculty. The lecturers do more than just deliver lessons; they mentor, provide constructive feedback, and challenge us to think critically about our ideas. Their approachable teaching style has made it easy to ask questions, experiment with new perspectives, and refine my work without fear of failure. The faculty also draw on their own industry experiences, which adds credibility and real-world depth to the lessons. Their support has been instrumental not just in building my academic knowledge but also in fostering my confidence and personal growth.

The Marketing Consultant module has been a turning point in my academic journey. It has provided me with an industry-relevant curriculum, opportunities for hands-on practice, a solid grounding in SEM, SMM, and SEO, and the support of faculty who truly care about student growth. The skills and confidence I have gained from this experience will extend far beyond the classroom, equipping me to tackle real-world challenges, build my personal brand, and step confidently into the marketing profession.
